gk and m, l and s

Well we spent Saturday night at our good friends G and M’s. They threw a Xmas dinner party and old friends J & D, and J & G were there too. As ever G and M were excellent hosts – great food (the scallops on pureed pea starters were wacky and brilliant M), loads of wine (too much for me as usual) and great chat with good company.

We discussed everything from GK’s toy soldier and model liner collections (he’s old!), Man U’s inexplicable loss to WHU (not a favourite with the girls), fast ejaculations (ditto) – mostly mine, JP’s gay tendencies (denied), D’s bosom, through to the success of my ‘ So tell me what you want, what you really want’ gift service – JW heroically actually bought G the silver Tiffany bracelet. Woo hoo. For people who until 10 years ago never had do’s at home, GK and M put on a great event.

It was so good just to catch up with old friends we haven’t seen for a while, to chat away and have a real good laugh for a change. There was one moment which dragged me back to the reality of our situation. JP, the last to arrive, couldn’t get into GK’s driveway so GK asked if I could re-park our car next to M’s. As you may recall from a recent posting, our car’s in the garage undergoing extensive and expensive surgery so we’re driving a little 10 year old Fiat Punto which S recently sorted for us, kindly. It has been a godsend. But the other night it was sat amongst GK’s Range Rover, M’s X5, JW’s X5 and JP’s Tuareg. As I parked up I could sense the guys looking sadly at this little Italian dinky car amongst their German behemoths, reflecting a little ruefully on our situation. But it’s fine guys. Honest.

Yesterday the little Italian number got us all the way from Hampshire to our oldest friends L and S up in Wetherby. It did take 8 hours in all (having picked R up from S’s in London). But we had a lovely meal and a few glasses with our mates and their girls and their fellas last night. Tonight we’re heading out for dinner in preparation for tearing the town apart. As if. C’s gone out with S to Leeds to get her hair cut so she’ll be happy.

It’s always great to have good friends.

ps just home this evening 1 jan. happy new year y’all! lovely time at L and S’s. felt very sorry that L couldn’t indulge his karaoke fantasies at all whilst we were there but had a great time at a wonderful Indian restaurant with adjacent table of 4/5 yorkshire lassies bragging v loudly about their oral and anal sexual experiences (they have no shame – nor secrets). It put a different slant on my king prawn biryani experience. some of the leeds utd team popped in for late night take away and promptly lost today! then home to l and s’s for a riotous round of humming ‘name that tune’ and  girl v bloke ‘family fortunes’. of course we lost but L and I were in no shape to compete to be honest. thanks for a great couple of days L and S.

  1. A blast from the past!! recognised most of the initials. How are you all doing. Met JW in slough the other day and asked after you who inturn led me here. If you are over for a while, it would be great to catch up for a beer or 2. You are always welcome to stop at mine if you need to be near town. I was in Cannes last week on hols and spent hours reliving our trip. It ranks up there as one of the times for me! Not used to blogging so you might have to guide me a little. Speak soon. SP.
