Let’s face it the last week or so has been really chilly and overcast with a bit of snow thrown in for good measure. It’s bloody mid-April for goodness sake. Popped out to get my paper at 6.30am and it was cold again (boo) but lovely and bright (hurrah). Carol was due to head off at 10am to Finmere to see her beautician and I needed to deliver a parcel to the Post Office and get some plant gifts from M&S before C left. It was only a few hours later but I couldn’t believe the change in the temperature. I’d only gone 50 yds and had to take off my top and walk around in just a T-shirt. It was so warm. OMG I thought, spring had sprung at last.
With C gone I busied myself with laundry matters and some other household chores. Caz arrived back mid-afternoon and we headed out for a walk. We opted to go for a stroll along the canal over the aqueduct. The last time we did this, daughter Becksy was with us and it was just freezing; the canal was actually frozen over to a depth of about 4” – see earlier posting. Today it was glorious and almost completely absent of other walkers. I cannot believe that something as historic, interesting and delightful doesn’t attract more attention. But I’m grateful. We had a glorious stroll jacket-less for the first time this year. Ah sweet baby Jesus can you leave us to enjoy the warmer weather now please and allow the lockdown to roll out with a sense of positivity? Many thanks bJ. Some pics of the day…
Yes it snowed here very heavily on Saturday and Monday too making it all very Christmassy, but fortunately there were no “deaths” ☺ (See above!).
Hi L
And those 4″ deaths are the worst of all. Oops now corrected!
