Well yesterday I was in London catching up with an old mate at Kings Cross. I had to get back for 2pm for a viewing on a new house  (we’ve been toying with a move). Following a very useful chat I got back on the tube to head for Waterloo St to catch my train home to Teddington. It was 12.30ish so plenty of time I figured….

london’s burning

Well I’ve just been on a flying visit back to London for a series of business meetings, which explains the lack of new postings over the last few days. I’m pleased to say that every meeting went well and hopefully some new business will result from it. It was also great to catch up with my daughter S and son-in-law I who looked after me so well. But the main point of this posting was to reflect on getting around London – now I can judge it as an occasional visitor rather than a weary commuter.

late night

Well the girls and S had a good old time at the Take That concert. As a first experience I think he really enjoyed it – a bit late for him by the end but such a thrill. By all accounts he was singing along to all the recent big hits. C and I headed up to the original Greenwich village for a bite to eat whilst the concert was on. We had a super meal at the Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Don’t know if you’ve tried these guys – they have a few outlets around but sensational burgers, nice venues, great service and really reasonably priced. Continue reading

onwards and upwards…. and then the commute

I’m pleased that we’ve had another great week picking up a significant football club client and a major charity. All we have to do now is to deliver on our client commitments. I had a great day in London today. This morning I did some film work for my great son-in-law S’s company and he and his partner E treated me to a lovely Japanese lunch at Matsuri’s in St James afterwards. Then catch up meetings with B and A on our sponsorship business at The Lords Taveners’ offices. The sun was shining and it felt great to be in London again. Continue reading
