Well I might have drawn a blank with my fruitless trip to Ikea (justifiably I’ve come to appreciate) but I’m proud to tell you that I’ve extracted a fulsome apology and handsome recompense from another mighty brand who’d fail to deliver me an adequate product/service. Oh yes.
You’ll recall my recent posting on retailing and the problem I was having over a stale packet of McVitie Digestive Thins. Well today I received the following in the post from pladis the huge biscuit manufacturer whose worldwide sales last year were around $3.5bn. It’s a very nice letter of apology and an incredibly generous voucher as you’ll see….
Yep a whole £3. I hope that amount doesn’t impact upon the company’s bottom line results for this year too much. But hey a result is a result and we’ll be able to use it to go out and buy another packet of Thins and about two thirds of another. Hold me back Carol, or I’m off to join that queue.
