onwards and upwards…. and then the commute

I’m pleased that we’ve had another great week picking up a significant football club client and a major charity. All we have to do now is to deliver on our client commitments. I had a great day in London today. This morning I did some film work for my great son-in-law S’s company and he and his partner E treated me to a lovely Japanese lunch at Matsuri’s in St James afterwards. Then catch up meetings with B and A on our sponsorship business at The Lords Taveners’ offices. The sun was shining and it felt great to be in London again.

Then a few hours later and from nowhere, rain. It chucked it down and I got soaked in the 200 yds between the offices and St James tube. 40 mins on a packed tube up to Highgate (the Piccadilly line was out) got me hot and sweaty and a 15 minute walk at the other end to collect the car gave me another soaking. A two hour drive home in dank clothes…nice. I’d forgotten what fun the London commute can be. Is it just me but I’d rather have got the train to Stansted and flown back to Italy in all honesty and there wouldn’t have been much in it in terms of time.

I really couldn’t go back to doing that 5 days a week now. I soaked for ages in the bath once I got home, to begin to feel human again. Starting my own business was the right choice. I’m sure of that now.
